Master cylinder plunger rod type thingy
paulbeyer - 19/11/02 at 10:14 AM

Last night I fitted the master cylinder to the bulk head using 2 x 3mm strenghening plates to stop the flexing. I got a pedal bracket and clevis pin arrangement from Merlin Motor Sport along with a plunger rod which will need shortening. Is the length of this thing critical and what dimensions have you used?

Hi paul

I cut my pushrod bit to suit my size 11 plates of meat.

I sat in car and made myself as comfortable as i could, then got help to pull pedal back so as to rest on the sole of shoe.

I suppose you could always start with it too long and pedal towards you, then shorten to suit when other pedals are in.

Cheers Bob, I wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing an important dimension 'cos brakes are important for stopping and things.

Brake pedal connected to the master cylinder tonight. M/c was a bargain from Exeter, brand new for only £12 from Martini car parts. Got a few other bargains from Lolocost. Track rod ends for £6 / pair and a pair of vented sierra disks for £5 each. I was just building up momentum and getting on well but now I have got to leave it for a couple of weeks whilst my company send me out to Lisbon on a 2 week all expenses paid jolly with the lads, err I mean important business trip (just in case the boss logs on).
