Looking for somewhere in West Sussex (or nearby) where I can get an exhaust joining piece made to my spec in stainless steel.

Just wondered if anyone could recommend somewhere.

there is a small engineering place just down the road from you rich that might be able to help on the a24. down over the lights with the 272 then past a dodgy crossroads with speedcamera signs, doubleback on yourself and they're just on the side of hte road, looks like a right old shack of a building but have good machining facilities. have seen them tigging, though not sure on stainless or tube bending, tony is the guy's name, company name is three letters, bgh or something, sorry can't be more specific.

i'll see if i can get more solid details for ya they do lots of good lathe and milling work for our racecar, one off stuff etc. not sure on rates though

I would normally recommend my Uncle's place in Fernhurst for most types of fabrication but they are absolutely snowed under at the moment with various car builds so I doubt they'd be able to squeeze you in at the moment (Im waiting on a few bits myself and Im family ). Might be worth a try though (01428 658865 - ask for John)

They used to be known as JTM Racing Services but are now Historic Raceprep, sadly the chap who run it previously passed away so now my uncle has taken it on. They mainly prep historic saloon cars (Lotus Cortinas, Mustangs etc) for the likes of Alan Mann amongst others, but will do pretty much anything car related and the hourly rate is good (less than most backstreet garages round this way!)

Ned, it is by a nursery yep, out the back of Fernhurst (half way between Haslemere and Midhurst where the TVR garage is). How come you know about em?
(BTW the comment above wasnt comparing the workmanship to a backstreet garage, just comparing prices! )

I once stumbled across an ad for a caterham vauxhall exhaust header which i went and picked up, apparantly they had changed a standard one for a full system and this is what they had left over.

they had some nice bits in there when i popped over (once i found them tucked away ) a nice fabrication setup by the looks of things, was a guy with a limp/dodgy leg i spoke to, can't remember his name though.
