At the risk of sounding thick can anyone tell me how to check the corner weights on my car and once checked how to adjust them.

Also what affect did it have and was it worth it

Thanks

The home method involves using bathroom scales. You need to be sitting in the car as well, i.e it takes at least 2 people to do.

The aim is to balance the weight on each wheel, by adjusting the shocks. Once balanced there should be a noticeable difference in handling.

The car must be level when you do the weighing as well.

There are a few companies around that will set corner weights up for you for a small fee.

short n sweet......

should be done on level ground

as said sit in car or add weight too drivers seat too = yours.

uncouple any anti roll bars

ideally the car should be rolled back n forth to settle susspension

weigh each corner, jacking up to put bathroom scales under at this point aint realy any good, thats why realy you need 4 scales all level and roll the car on to them to settle all the susspension, jacking it up then weighing it will be well off the mark.

adjust sprig platforms too suit, aim too move the weight about diagonally not side too side, eg, to put more weight on left front jack up right rear spring platform.

hope this helps.

oh, and roll the car back n forth after each adjustement to settle it down, you will be chasing your own "bottom" if you dont.

Easily explained - will give it a try....

All I need now are 3 more sets of scales.
