MK indys in netherlands?
snubbing - 3/6/05 at 09:39 PM

Just a quick question for Dutch builders (or anybody else). How many MKs on road in NL and any problems with importing after SVA?
Answers much appreciated, am seriously considering MK indy but am worrying about importing after SVA, and the implications for engine choice.

For a while I've been considering compilation of an MK register. Purely for owners of MK chassis, not FG or other bits as it would get messy. Maybe MK Sportscars would like to adopt this idea purely from a customer service viewpoint. It would also help to prevent dodgy copies and aid traceability...

Hi,

Im building a MK Indy in my garage in Holland (Drenthe).
The engine will be a fireblade.
As far as i know there won't be very big problems to get it on the road in Holland.
After all the things to get it on the road in GB you just have to import it.

Als je meer info wilt mail mij gerust op.

A very good idea, it would of helped me with my passed problems

I'm considering buying an MK myself.

Do MK not put a factory number of their own somewhere on the chassis? Surely they would want to for their own tracing needs if a customer complaint or a part issue arose. Otherwise it would be far too simple for someone to palm off fair copies and Mk would cop the brunt of bad feedback.

Have you already looked on www.haselier.nl

I think he will have more information for you.

You should be okay with the Indy. Just make sure you pass the SVA, and be prepared to pay import duties when you import it back to Holland.

There's lots of confusion about the emission test. When you call the RDW, they'll tell you that your car will need a catalytic converter (eventhough my engine doesn't need one for the SVA). But at the same time kits are imported without cat. So all in all, don't worry, it should all work out.
