Wheel offset

I have been offeres a set of 6.5" alloys wheels with an off set of ET16. As these would be fitted to seirra hubs (ET38 std) It would appear that they will be approx 1" further out than optimum. I assume this likely to primarily be a problem on the front where excessive scrubbing may occur. The addditional bearing loads I am assuming will be negligable as the loads will be significantly less than those on the standard set up.
Does any body have any experience of such a set up, or if this is likely to be a problem any suggestions as to alternative solutions or hubs.

I've tried ET 16 wheels on my indy because i had some kicking about. It didn't work.... The rear arches were fouling on the edge of the tires (unless you run huge amounts of negative camber), and the front cycle wings didn't fit either. You'd be better of getting some wheels with the correct offset IMHO.
