Be Honest, how far off are we?
The Stoat - 2/7/05 at 09:32 AM

Am in the middle of a build at the moment, when the flywheel comes back from being fettled we are going to assemble the car into a rolling chassis. All of the major mechanical components are stripped cleaned and ready for re-assembly.

Go on frighten me and tell me how far we are still to go!

If you're me (which i doubt, because 'i'm the only one ) then probably 5 years.

what do you want to hear?

can we have a picture?

if the engine isn't running, i'd say you're about a third of the way there.

Took us six months again... car is now on't road.

We built a GTS narrow bodied car over a weekend at the detling kit car show.

If you have all the bits and 3 people working, anythings do able.

But its getting all the bits together and ready to go in, that take most of the time for kits.

When your making it all yourself like me... 4 years

How often do all you guys work on it?

I'm planing atleast 3 nights a week (about 2-3 hours) and atleast 10-12 hours/weekend.

I hope to get mine on the road next summer, think its possible?

shortie - 2/7/05 at 07:24 PM

Well I started my Indy in May last year and I have worked I guess about 10-12 hours a week on it and not many weekends at all (kept for family) and I have my SVA on July 18th so I reckon you could well be done by next summer or even sooner.

Rich.

Lose all contact with members of the opposite sex and fit kettle/microwave/camp bed in the garage and you could get it built in next to no time.

On the other hand, if your enjoying the build, take your time and make the most of it.

If you have the money to buy the bits you will be ready next year easy

We'll all feel let down if we don't see it at Overstone Manor a week on Wednesday.
