Whats happened with the owners club? I know that Bob organises space at shows, but who is the best person to speak to about joining?
Now i am near to finishing i would like to join as it now seems like i actually own an indy, not just a load of metal and orange plastic!
[Edited on 7/7/05 by greggors84]
The MK Owners club is no more i'm afraid. We had loads of members for the 1st year because it was free then the 2nd year hardly anyone re joined and then i sold my Indy so it all kinda collapsed.
I reckon it's worth having a go at getting it up and running again.
Bob and I have been talking about doing a more social type thing at the shows by having a marquee and sorting food and BBQ's.
What do others think?
Also if you had to pay say a fiver to join would people still join?
Rich.
Well you can count me in!
If the rest of the country shows little interest, perhaps a Southern club could get going. (well 2 of us at least!!)
Be interesting to see the reaction from others.
Cheers
Mike
If the £5 includes a monthly magasine, car sticker, preferential insurance, discount from MK, freephone technical support and an free bar at the AGM , count me in
if ya wanna do things on the cheap you can arrange stickers / banners with online sticker companys, who then advertise the sticker online, then the
ownus is on us to buy the sticker to advertise the fact we are in the club
though if you ask me locost builders is pratically an owners club
Like greggors84, i am nearing completion and i am dissapointed to hear that the MK owners club is no more.
I would be interested in a club and meeting other owners of MK's
Ditch
Nice to see Mk ers are keen to get a club back on track
I've just booked space at the Harrogate show for at least 20 cars, sadly i cant make this one due to work. I am free to attend the Totalkitcar
weekend at Brands september 17/18th so maybe anyone interested in running helping or organising a proper club could meet up there for a chat.
I'm not sure an annual fee is needed straight away as we can newsletter on here, chrisw has said he will allways help in any way to assist on the
forum too.
A proper club and registration would give us discounted insurance as we all know so it is worth the effort just for that.
I would support an MK owners Club
Cheers
Mark
Yeah count me in.
It might be an idea to go north and south areas,i've seen other clubs do this as events are wide and far.
But a load of us can get together at some point(shows) and have a chat i'm sure.
I'm not interested in track days but i'm sure someone will want to organise that one.
How about having a Locost Sevens Owners club or some other generic name if Cateringvan get stupid about the use of the number seven. There are single
figure numbers of MNR, a few GTS, many more Luego, MK, Tiger and some others that use this forum. Some of the makes have too few cars or builders to
have a viable club and others, MK included have had clubs that have folded for various reasons so why not be inclusive. The more people you have as
potential members the bigger the pool to draw officers from and the more cars likely to turn up at the shows.
Nigel
Surely the clue's in the name - it's not like we'd need to set up a club website.
Count me in.
TC
I'm sorry but i'm only really going to bother if the MK owners club can get going again, other clubs like locost car club are already running and good to work along with but i think MK ers are just looking for one make club.
Plus it's more fun to gatecrash other clubs campsites
ATB Dan.
good point Dan,after stoneleigh this year i might just do that next time
my hand is deffinately raised for membership to a MK owners club
You can't where you i go!!
Mix type(MK,MNR,luego) camping maybe best at the big events.
Atb Dan.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to join an MK club....
I reckon MK owners is best, if others want to join us at various times that's fine but I think what we are really talking about here is a club
specifically for the MK people as there are now alot (or seem to be) of MK's around.
Rich.
Hi Bob, As we have spoken about this before I would always try and help so count me in.
Not quite sure about North /South divides, of course Northerners are always on top, geographically of course.
Dont forget Bob you are an 'Onery northerner!! You cant be in both...
I must admit its hard work being both
I dont mind just to carry on booking club parking areas for the cars at shows, but i do feel people want more and after the success of the lads at MK
offering the bar-b-q at newark i think hospitality is top of the list.
I'm meeting up with shortie this weekend so we will have a chat ourselves about shows and and all that and everything.
I cant make Harrogate this year but i'm sure the lads up there can light a bar-b and cremate some meat
[Edited on 7/7/05 by bob]
MK owners club sounds good to me!
And i can recruit another 2 MK owners
If i can offer any help to anybody in getting this going please ask
MK parking at Harrogate do you need to book as i need two spaces
Cheers
I've asked for an area big enough to take at least 20 cars over the weekend for the harrogate show, just turn up should be ok.

Absolutely. This was only based on those who care to admit to what they are doing in their "Building?" profile
I know there are more.......

I would be up for helping in the running of the club.
Maybe if there was say 5 people that were invloved and each one was responsible for a partiular aspect of the club. For example bob is already sorting
shows. I am interested in doing trackdays but have never done one so maybe someone would be up for organising some and trying to get some club
discount. Someone else could do merchandising such as stickers or t-shirts, the online shop idea is good, it means you can have t-shirts but dont have
to order 50 and not be able to sell all of them, the online place just makes them to order, cant think of one to hand though.
Im sure there would be other aspects that needed to be handled for the running of the club.
Hopefully would could get club discounts for a few things, maybe from MK eh Snooy!?
I'm happy to carry on booking plots for the shows,if thats ok with you lads
If you all want members and numbers for discounts at insurance and the likes then we would need a members secretary.

Ok here goes.........
I never thought i would say/write this but due to unforeseen (SWMBO) circumstances the Cobra project is on hold for the foreseeable
future
SO
Another Indy could well be on the cards as i was thinking of building another one before the Cobra project became an option. If this happens then i
may take up the reigns with the club as i have the MK Owners club bank account (as well as Bob) and the time to do the membership.
This is not 100% certain but a good possibility. I'll keep you posted, after i have finished trying to gas myself in the oven.....which would be
difficult cos we're electric!!

Yep, my MK Owners Club wooly hat is one of my most prized possessions!
I'd love to see the club back up and running again.
Give me a shout when you want money, I'm not in a postition to help out at the moment though, maybe in a years time.
well well well
ha ha ha
hee hee hee
sorry andy my sides are splitting,i have gas if you want to pop around
Yep the MK wooly hat is a prized possesion,i reckon andy should put another order in for 50 more.
Andy
does this mean the old website may well surface as we have a banner with www.mkownersclub.co.uk plastered on it?
Yeah it will i guess...blimey i forgot about that!! more work
Been looking arround and MK are by far the best vale for money. Watch this space.....
Andy
If you can get it back online before the Harrogate show (13/14th august) that would be great,ASH3 has the banner and will be at the show
The MK Owners Club website is up but only a splash page at the moment as i need to bring it back up to date.
http://www.mkownersclub.co.uk/
Watch this space...or the one at the club site
It's up YAY!
Yo Bob yep still have the
banner but has we had planned
to cut it down to just read MK
owners club some how i just
could not bring myself to cutting
