hi
i seem to be stuck on this last problem before its finished.
problem is the headlights ,when i have dipped beam on the stalk is in the high beam position ,and when i have high beam the stalk is in dipped beam position.all the lights work ok but the positioning is messed up.only thing i can think is that i have wired something wrong at the stalk end .
im using seirra stalks and fireblde clocks so when i have high beam the blue light comes on the blade clocks,and i used premier wiring loom

Lets see now:

are you aware there are three positions on the stalk?
1. Push forward - Hi-beam lock
2. Normal position - Dip
3. Pull back - flash

So what you are saying is:
"When your lights are in normal position you have hi-beam and when pulled or pushed you have dipped"? If so, you have connected the wires in the headlight units incorrectly. Swap over the hi and dip wire feeds.

Sounds to me like you are unaware that there are three positions. BTW - when hi-beam is on LOCK (pushed forward), dipped lights should go off. When flash is activated (pulled) ALL (hi and dip) are on!

So what happens when you pull the stalk towards you for the main beam flash, with your lights off?

Hi There,

This sounds like a problem I have just spent a few days working out myself !!!

In my case it was me that was the problem....slight bit of colour confusion....

Using the premier loom to connect to the sierra column switch for dip / main I had got a couple of wires the wrong way round. I left wiring tails on the switch connectors and soldered the premier loom to this basically I should have connected the brown / yellow from the loom to the Brown / White on the plug and vice versa, sorry but I cannot remember the pin numbers, I can look this up tomorrow evening if it helps.

Same symptoms, switch on headlights with dip switch in central position and I get high beam and the warning lamp, move to main beam pos and the warning light goes out and I get dip beam....dip and main on along with the warning light when the switch is pulled forwards.

Got to be worth a look if you havn't already sorted it.

i rung premier wiring today and he comfirmed what u r saying
yellow is dipped
white is high beam

then ive connected up to the wiring on the stalk but as alan at premier said ford swapped the colours around .
im going to work on the car tomorrow so i will swap those two wires over at the switch and hopefully cure the problem .
