Well I've driven it for the first time!!!!!
Wow, bit different from a normal car! finding nuetral can be fun and it will take some getting used to all the little rattles and that.
Didn't drive too fast but wow does it accelerate quick!!
Back on the drive all in one piece, no leaks and nothing fallen off!!!
MOT at 4.30 so we'll see how it goes.
Rich.
Well done. Good luck with the MOT. Keep us posted, fingers are crossed.
Does everyone bother with an MOT. Every one i have spoken to said it isnt representative of SVA so of limited value. I guess it mainly checks light
alignment, emissions and brake set up. Any other good reasons??
Peace of mind more than anything, another pair of trained eyes looking over the car.
Not required but worth it I reckon!
Rich.
Yup, if there is anything that is obviously not 'safe' any MOT station worth their salt will tell ya! Its not just yourself on the road to
SVA, there are other road users/members of the public that are at 'risk', if your car is found not to be 'MOT-'able roadworthy!
No, its not anywhere near is stringent as a SVA, but for putting it on the road to take it there, it is a peace of mind excercise.

Well done Rich! let us know how the MOT goes!
i actually agree that MOT is a good idea - its a cheap way to get a trained professional to give your car the once over. Im just playing devils
advocate to test other peoples experience.
I hope it passes Rich.
Well it was fine
He basically did a fake MOT so it didn't go on the system as I would have then probably had to have one every year instead of not needing one for
the first three years of registration.
Ideal really as he went over all the normal MOT bits and we adjusted the headlights. He pointed out a couple of things. First was that on full lock
the braided brake pipe came too close to the coilovers so he said best to experiment so that when on full lock both ways it is fine and dosn't
stretch or touch anything. I have cable tied it to the wishbone which seems to make it ok, have others done this??
Second thing was he asked how much of the wheelstud was in the wheel nuts as he said he may measure them and check how the stud goes into the nut but
we will have to see on that one, worst case I will have to re-test and borrow someones ford focus wheels!!
One other thing was I noticed a very minor oil leak where the oil pressure Y-piece connects to the braided hose, just some PTFE or maybe tightening it
slightly would do it.
Tested the speedo by following my mate and that seemed bang on so all fine really, well pleased, just SVA now!!
Oh, one last thing.............'it's bl**dy quick'!!!!! Up to 6000 I thought 'this is quick' then all hell breaks loose and
it's in another league!!! Scary!
congrats so far . I don't think they will let you get away with cable tying a brake component to a suspension part. the general way of setting up
the flexi's is before you bleed the system I was told by one of the guys at mk to fit hose to caliper then fit other end to bodywork and by
rotating the pipe you can get it to clear on full lock (just like putting a kink in it) maybe some-one can explain better
good luck anyway. Getting it MOT'D is a good idea anyway cos if you are going to do a track day to settle brakes suspension etc in the last thing
you want is finding out you missed something simple
tony
Well done Rich! thats one hurdle out of the way...now to the next and final one!
Fozzie
The rack does lock out far far too much on the indy,a few people have jubilee clipped stops under the gator so as the stop it a bit earlier.
This may stop the brake pipe from touching
I'd forgotten about that I did it this way

Sounds like a good idea, the other side doesn't seem to be a problem so I think it may just be a case of twisting the braided hose but I reckon
the rack thing is a good idea.
Do I just pull the gaiter back and put a clip on, has anyone got a pic?
Rich.
Can I put myself down for test ride?
I haven't been in a BEC yet, I might want one!!!!
I've already got the carbs!!

I'll take that as a possibly not then....
Could you handle all that power Dave???
I must admit part of me is tempted (only a small part!) to go bike power cos thay are SO damn quick!!!
I should keep any mention of your small parts to yourself !!!
