Good luck

When did you book it by the way? I'm not aware of the procedure, do you ring and book then they will ring back later on with a date?

get the dvla man over for build inspection, he'll give you a chassis number (thats if you've not already done this)

then print out THIS VOSA FORM , fill it in including you 2 choices for test centre and send it to swansea, they will then send you back a pointless letter asking to confirm it's a ammature build etc, send that back to swansea again and they will then get in contact with your requested test centre who will then send you a date for test.

it'll be 3 weeks exactly from the date i applied to the date of test so not too bad!

I thought I needed someone to come over from DVLA but when I rang some woman said just do the SVA The other thing I need to sort out is proof of engine age from ford, I have the number, just need to find out where to send it

Where are you going to get a chassis number from then?

You need to arrange with your local DVLA centre for the chassis number.

You'll need it at some point and if you can't register the car for ages *after* SVA it'll be really frustrating. The chassis plate guy doesn't need to see a finished car so get this bit out the way early.

Cheers,
James
