Quick Rack question
Jubal - 22/11/05 at 10:07 PM

I've done a search and spotted some older posts. They mention shortening this, exchanging that and ordering something else. As I didn't build this car I really didn't get the full picture. So can anyone explain in simple terms what bits I need to convert my Indy to a quick rack?

Many thanks

Easiest is to get yourself a ready made one, really can be a pain trying to mod an old rack, as said by snoopy getting it all to come together is real trial and error.

I bought a rack from Rally design on monday and it was delivered yesterday.

Mine is a 2.9 for £49 +vat p&p but they also do a 2.4 I think for about £75 +vat +p&p

Best service in yonks

Partco were selling new Escort 'high ratio' racks not long ago. Also got standard ratios. Might be worth a try.

Thanks all. I've never any objection to making life as easy as possible. I looked at rally design. They have the following:

SIERRA(all manual) 2.4 RATIO RACK & PINION KITS
[RD835]

http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog/popup_image.php?pID=7326

Is that suitable? Will I still need to get those mods done with this kit or is this a drop in replacement? TVM.

I'll check with the guy who built it. I had thought that all these cars had a modified rack from MK.

Top man. I posted in this forum because it is an Indy. Sorry for not being explicit.
