Indy Handbrake cable routing
esn163 - 3/12/05 at 08:39 PM

Hi,

We are just in the process of fitting the handbrake cable to our Indy but are unsure of the routing and whether any brackets etc need to be made to route it down to the drums safely. Has anyone got any photos that show the handbrake cable on the car?

Thanks

Ed

Just a word of warning. I failed SVA after using U-saddles for connecting the cables atr the lever end. Only acceptable method at Gosforth is commercially crimped ends.

Many people have passed elsewhere using u saddles and solder on nipples (silver solder), but some centres are now warning against these (U saddles in particular).

Few pic's in my photo archive show how we routed ours, look at the ones called fuel tank and drum, you can see on the fuel tank one we p-clipped the cable to the top rail, saw this on a car at MK i believe thats how they do all there cars.

Did we speak to you saturday at MK??

Cheers Mike

Yes we were at MK on saturday. Thanks for all the pictures everyone. Don't know how I missed those on Hellfire's site I had actually already looked there first.

Thanks

Have been pondering over exactly this same problem myself.
Using standard Sierra handbrake cables, inner needs shortening but outers seem too short to get easy bends to drums.
Photos offered from other builders don't quite show best route. Can anyone out there offer more advice?
