Help MK Indy vs Tiger Cat E1
bonerp - 10/3/03 at 09:44 AM

I have been considering the Tiger Cat E1 because it looks a good comprehensive kit, however £3600 is a lot + the donor car!

Can any of you Indy owners provide feedback on build costs, what the kit is like, availability of spares from MK etc etc etc. Also WHY did you choose the MK Indy?

Thanks soo much for your help in advance.

MK:-
Check out my web, i reckon 6k by the time we've finished. Costs page will be deleted soon incase the missus sees it

The standard of all the parts i have bought are superb, welding is excellent, fibre glass is excellent, the prop flange and UJ set up is very nice. Generally seems excellent all over, especially for the price.

The manufacturing standard was a big reason for choosing the MK, plus we really liked the look of it, especially the wide track. Just need to finish it now!!

I chose MK because of reccomendations and from my viset to MK. I decided after so many people on this site reccomended MK to me that I would take a reip there. After that viset i was certain i was going to get an MK Indy as i was treated like royalty and all my questions were answered

However if you go the MK route then your likely to spend about £3500 but with the MK its over the build time not all upfront like the Luego

I went with the MK because as an engineer I see that that chassis is superb. Not just the design but the quality of manufacture.

Also they are very useful and will give you good reliable advise.

As far as cost goes im looking at about £5-6k and im using a blackbird injection engine but ive just about made everything myself and made an ali body which realy looks the part.

If you used all sierra parts inc engine theres no reason why you can build an excelent indy for £3500-4000 if you're selective with the parts that you buy.

Just cant wait to get it on the road. I feel a trip to the Nurburgring coming on! Then i'll be able to see what it realy can do.

I dont need any more major parts and i've spent a touch over £3500 all in,i'm sure it can be done for less ie steel wheels and sierra clocks. You'll be surprised how many good deals on bits come your way once you get started as well.
I chose MK not only because the product and recomendations were so good, its the fact that the MK himself has time for you himself.
Remember one thing though,if you ever need to phone them 9am is your best chance as they are very busy
