Anyone fitted big brakes to their cars. (ie ap's) I dont like the weight of the sierra calipers.
Got Wilwoods on my Cortina uprights- nice, bound to do them for Sierra.
How much does a set of wilwoods cost, do you have them on the rear too?
Hi, If you want to put Willwoods on your Sierra hubs you will have to make up your own mounting bracket to suit. I have recently put a pair of Billet
Dynalites on using a 285mm solid disc and Ali bell made by Hi-spec. I couldn't see how you could put these calipers on with a smaller disc size as
they tend to fouldthe hub. An alternative would have been to use a large cossy 280mm vented front disc but these are 'kin heavy compared with the
Hi-spec ones I used. Not necessary on a lightweight kit car.
Since then I have discovered you can get a kit from Hi-spec that includes ultralight 4 pots, mounting brackets + discs. These are sold through the Kit
Car Workshop (tel : 01933 4111116 ask for Martin Bell)
They cost around £500 + VAT - not cheap but excellent quality. I hardly saved any money by buying the Wilwoods and fabricating my own brackets. You
live and learn.

Forget good brakes on the back, you want the sh*ttiest old pads/shoes on there as you want the least amount of braking.
Main reason I wanted some flash brakes is because it decreases unsprung mass not because of the extra braking power but I suppose a bit more powerful braking cant do any harm.
I forgot to say I saved around 6-7kgs PER wheel by replacing the standard sierra calipers and discs - should improve handling considerably as well as
giving better braking performance.

If you have a look at rally design's site www.raldes.co.uk it shows all the wilwood brakes. The superlite 4 pots are only £123 per corner plus pads and mounting brks I guess.
Ive seen this but i think disks are not included
