Rolling Chassis stage..
ned - 29/5/03 at 04:24 PM

I'm trying to budget for buying a chassis and getting it to the rolling chassis stage. I have problems with building and storage facilities/space, so I figure the sooner I can build one to rolling chassis stage the easier it will be if necessary to move it!

This also gives me a good target/timescale to aim for.

So far I have thought up the following (though I'm sure I'm missing some bits)

From MK:
MK indy basic kit
MK ball joint set

From Donor:
wheels
uprights
brakes
axle
diff

Other:
dampers/springs (still undecided on which ones)
paint for chassis

Are there any other parts I need to get it to rolling chassis only stage (I know I haven't included steering rack/column which will obviuosly come from donor)

Thanks,

Andrew

ps I may be being OTT, but I like to be well organised and plan ahead!
I'm sure someone who's built one will have more insight than me! (hindsight etc)

You could delay buying the spring dampers for a bit by getting a bit of inch square tubing (or wood or anything) and having dummy dampers to take the weight of the car.

Get the floor on first job (it comes with MK kit), but its a lot easier to turn upside down when there is nothing attached. Plus you can sit in it and make reving noises
