i was giong to get a mk indy or a st car for weekend and trackday use but during my pre buy research i came across the gt1 .so which is the best for handling i imagine the gt1 is better but by how much and is it worth the extra cash
Apparently GT1 is on rail, according to Jon Ison, who races one.
Depends how much road use u gonna do, as the very low sides might drive u mad on speed bumps!
GT1 is very cheap for what is it and compared to competition. Would be my next choice if I had the cash and was in the mood for another build.
depends on your budget i would guess, though as jasper says it a lot cheaper than the competition ie radical, westfield xtr etc etc. I imagine should
be balanced better, being rear engined/rwd.

ok i can build a indy for about 4>6k
how much would a gt1 cost i know the kit is about 4k but how much is the finishing kit , i dont think the speed bumps would be a problem i am sure i
could avoid them.
thanks for the info so far
you would build one for roughly the same cost as an indy if you used the same engine in each, ie...bike, the total cost difference would be the initial cost of the kit with very little to add extras wise for the GT1.
ok are there any hidden extras i will need apart from the quaife chain driven diff . its all sierra running gear isnt it?? has the car been through a
sva test yet and are the front lights available yet .
p.s. anyone know the price of the quaife diff.
iv'e got lights in the race car, don't the kit come with diff ? i would'nt know for sure, other than that can't think of any
hidden extras, yup all sierra running gear, i would have thought it would be no problem to drop a FWD engine box combination in the back without any
difficultys too if you was so minded, your then minus diff and bike engine costs, paul legget must be very close to sva by now, you will see his car
on thbe MK owners site and he pops up on the yahoo bec list from time to time too.
engine wise, blade is more than enough with the "slippy" shape it moves thru the air better than a 7 at high speeds, get up to MK's n
take a look some time.........
I'm guessing, but if you wanted to save money on the quaife dif could you not just mount a bike engine at 90degrees and run it through a sierra
LSD or standard dif?
Apologies if this has been mentioned before.

i dont think the kit comes with the diff (just looked at the web sit and no mention of a diff) i want to do the job right while not going ott so i
would like to stick with the chain diff i was also thiking of going with a zx12 engine would this perhaps be too much for it .
on the quaife site they list a chain diff for a bec with reverse built in any one heard anything about it good or bad
ZX12 would be just rite, thats the next engine we are dropping in, ive just come from MK's but never thought to ask bout diff 4 u, will be there sat most likley so will enquire n let u know.
that would be great
thanks
i would love to visit mk and will do as buying time draws closer , but it is a fair trek as i live in edinburgh . will the gt1 kit fit in a short
wheelbase van, or is a trailer or long wheel base recomended.
