air scoops

How have people fitted air scoops as i have used the black (i got with it) gue twice and it still pulls away, there is a bit of force on the scoop to follow the profile of the bonnet, can anyone suggest a glue method that has been used, would ultra sonic welding work with abs and fibre glass?

try m3 seam sealer used this for putting
my panels on with if i need to remove
them i will need to use a hammer and chisel so should do the trick

My previous experience with U/S welding of plastics would lead me say a most definite NO

3 reasons:

1 - I believe it works best on similar materials
2 - Polyester resin in GRP is thermosetting, rather than thermoplastic which U/S needs
3 - U/S welding needs special (very expensive) tooling and is'nt really a one-off suitable process.

Anyone know any more about U/S welding?

Why glue, why not use stylish stainless steel dome headed allenkey bolts with washers and lock nuts below, set at say 25 mm all the way round the scope?

You could also use some of the black goo to seal the item to the bonnet. But the bolts will take the strain.

If done correct it may look quite stylish.
