Seats too wide
Hursty - 17/4/07 at 01:24 PM

Hello there. I have jus=t been trying to get some seats for my MK Indy. I don't really want just the plastic shell type but am more interested in an upholstered (cobra, sparco type) finish. i have checked out the local shops, demon tweeks etc but all the seats appear to be too wide at the base for the MK.

Maybe its me misunderstanding the dimensions? What have you guys fitted? Can anyone help or advise where I can get some decent seats that fir the Indy at a reasonable price?

Thanks chaps

You need Cobra Roadster 7 seats.
Available from a variety of places, but perhaps not Demon.
Chap on here "Cashy" also sells them

cobra have a 7 style seat called the roadster that fits and look very smart. Many on this site have used them, including me on my buggy.

yeah like he said above

Intatrim seats are one option, pretty comfortable, narrow and not that expensive - or type 'cobra seats' into the search thingy on here, loads of people have fitted them and a member of the list sells them ' cashy' i believe is his user name.

was goign to say intertrim but you got there first.

If you take cash to stonleigh you can usually pick them up cheeper from the stand

I think VAT and postage free

Not sure how heavy the Intatrim ones are but aren't the Cobra ones quite heavy (and some have failed at the welds too)...
I fitted Kirkey race seats. Quite expensive though....
Intratrim Ranger were my #2 choice...

Just me with the Richfield RX777 then?

Shame 'cause they're narrow (380mm), light and comfortable.

I did 600 miles in one week last year without anything getting numb

The MK GRP seats are surprisingly comfortable. More so than you'd think by looking at them. You can also pad them youself with self adhesive foam, should you so wish and best of all, they are extremely light (increasing your bhp/tonne ) and also quite cheap in comparison to others.
