I am trying to build up an inventory of all the fasteners I need for my Indy - I am buying them from orbitalfasteners.co.uk, and since their postage
is £7.95, I want to get as many things from them now as I can! (Their prices for the actual bolts etc. seem very reasonable compared to most
places).
I would like to know what the most common sized nuts and bolts are for the Indy, and in what quantity I am likely to need them.
If anyone has any information, it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
James
would be a lot cheaper finding a local engineering supplies and getting friendly with them, most offer stuff at trade if you pay cash,
there must be plenty on white lund ind est

I see your point Mitch, and I have been to White Lund a couple of times before, the only problem is that I don't always have the use of my
parents' car, and as I live on the opposite side of Lancaster, nearer Kirkby Lonsdale, it can take close to an hour's round trip.
But I would mainly like to know the nuts and bolts etc. needed if I do go there, to save me making more trips than necessary.
Thanks

calvinx, do you mean cumbria fasteners?
They are pretty good there actually, just a couple of times I have been there and they haven't had any rivnuts, but now I have decided to use
some plastic brake clips for my brake lines, so i am looking to buy online.
But I may try there if i go to the scrappy's just down the road.
Thanks
I got one of the metric 'mixed bags' from Namrick, it's a really good start. Apart from some of the odder big sizes (e.g. some M12
socket caps for the diff) i've not had to add to what came in the bag, although it does look like i'll be running short on shortish
M8's soon.
Make sure you have lots of M8 and M10 nylocks
I've used Orbital and can recommend them.

Get 50 odd top hat 6mm rivnuts and 50 normal 6mm rivnuts. That should be more than enough.
Say 50 to 100 6mmx30mm domehead, say A2 stainless.
If you have a deluxe kit then suspension bolts are provided.
A pack of 100 A2 M6 stainless washers + say 100 more M6 penny washers.
That should be enough if you plan to bolt on the side pannels (which is what I'm doing).
For other sundires, as said get a mixed bag.
Get loads of M6, M8, M10, M12 nylocs, say 50 to 100 of each as you may end up replacing ones at times.
I would then work out specifically what you need when needed then order that number + say 25% to50% spare for when you loose them.
thanks everyone or your help, much appreciated
