Went to the scrappy's today to see if I could get my hands on some sierra rear hubs.
No luck there, but I saw that there was a Nissan Micra (Mk 2), and I thought that I could use the radiator from it on my Indyblade to be.
Paid £15 (including the fan), only to get back and find on here that I needed a rad of a Mk 1 micra!!
Is this true? I want to confirm this before I sell it on. Fingers crossed, can I use it?
Cheers,
James
sorry for the long unnecessary story, I can't stop myself when i get going sometimes
I used the mk1 micra rad
you can use what ever rad you like as long as it fits
I have a mk II micra rad in mine also bought by accident.
It does fit slightly towards the offside for the bottom hose and tipped back for the height.
Seems ok so far but Im not on the road yet so not really tested.
The Mk2 (properly known as the K11) is the bigger rad. A tight fit. But nice and lightweight and good cooling....
I wouldn't want to use a K10 radiator from a scrapper (the youngest K10 is 14 years old so unless its had a new rad its likely to be past its use
by date). Even the youngest K11 is going to be 4 years old now....
Ok, thats what I wanted to hear!
Not due to be fitted for a while, but I just wanted peace of mind
Ta!
what about an mk2 polo from the scrappies? that must be at least 20 years old! the rad i got was in perfect condition, not one dent
