Master Cylinder Rod
StevieB - 3/9/07 at 04:47 PM

Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can get a master cyclinder rod of the correct length for my Indy - I'm using the standard Sierra m/c.

Thanks in advance!

If I recall, I used a long bolt cut to the appropriate size

Cheers

I used a clevis and pushrod assembly from Merlin Motorsport. I had to adapt it slightly by cutting off the mushroom and shortening it, but it wasn't expensive and has worked perfectly so far.

Looking at Merlin's website they seem to sell the parts seperately now, but you would need part numbers...

GMC-CLV
GMC-PIN
GMC-PR

I used a long bolt cut to size too.

I used a piece of m8 threaded bar with a couple of nuts on it to lock in place and also a clevised end both from mk

john.

Right - got a clevis assembly from Rally Design, but my M8 bolt doesn't seem to fit the threads - does anyone happen to know what thread is needed?

I think it might be an imperial thread, UNF possibly. If you get the matching pushrod from RalDes it fits fine.

You can get an 8mm clevis.
Try a local trailer shop or Trailer Spares - link.

Yes, I had to retap my clevis to M8 to fit the rod.

I've got a metric clevis off a mk2 Golf, although now I come to think about it I can't remember if it's M8 or M10. Pretty sure it's M8
