You need a capri cable (i think), alternative is to make an adjuster.

Mr Whippy - 6/2/08 at 08:12 PM

oh I see that. I'd recommend you get hold of a Cortina MK 4 cable which has an ordinary end on the pedal side and the adjuster on the gearbox end (simply a nut on a thread). That ford pedal adjuster is dreadful and not really suitable for a 7. I think you'll soon have someone telling you where you can source a new cable, it's just a matter of time, though MK engineering should have one.

capri, cortina, escort they all used the same one.

They have the Capri ones on ebay. Same as described above (were Capri's not mechanically the same as the Cortina?).

Mr Whippy - 6/2/08 at 08:16 PM

yeah that's what I mean

Stuart_B - 6/2/08 at 08:17 PM

what mark Capri cable do i need or does it not matter?

Mole - 6/2/08 at 08:22 PM

I'd say the last one. (Mark 3?) and a five speed. All you concerned about is it fitting a type 9 box. I have no idea whether or not the other have a different fitment so even that might not be an issue.

I must have posted before while Mr. Whippy was editing his.
