Hi, help required please, fitting prop to my zx9 indy. Do you need to put a spacer on the middle joint. Mines is very close to the chassis. If so what do you use? Cheers
Yes you do need to space it off, i cannot remember by how much but the spacers were made from some tube with a heavy wall thickness.
Mike
Thanks for that. Better to check first. Off to find some spacers now!!!!
when I last looked at mine mid build at BEC Center, it looked like mine had about 8 - 10 spacer washers pushing the prop away from the drivers firewall/feet.
i think this is from hellfires website, i was looking at fabricating a bar between top and bottom tunnel rail, in a "C" shape

Just been out and got some spacers. They should take it out by 10mm. I'll give them a try and let you know.
Al.
Does the rear section of the prop need to be exactly in the centre of the tunnel?
make sure you use long enough bolts as well so the thread goes into the thread lock on the nut.
I've got the same problem with my prop, i'm going to make some spacers as mentioned, macspeedy on your photo are your bolts tight because as mentioned above the locking nylon hasn't got any thread in it,I think I would want at least a couple of turns showing in such a critical area.
Ed,
the photos are of our Indy and the bolts were loose in the lower picture.
