I've got my pedals installed but I can't figure out how to attach the accelerator and clutch cables, can anyone help me out?
Did you use the standard sierra ones or do they need to be modified?
Also, how long have you made your push rod for the master cylinder clevis pin?
Thanks,
Pete
on my pedals, un driven but pushed a few times, i just bodged them:
accelerator i chopped the end off the sierra pedal and welded it into my new pedal made from 1 inch tube, cos the end is quite neat on the original
part
on the clutch, i chopped up some square tube to make some very small L shaped pieces, and welded two on side by side to make a slot that the cable end
fits on nicely.
for the brake i just bent a piece of 3mm flat bar and hinged this onto the pedal, the pushrod slots thru two holes on the bent bar. Sorry that doesnt
make much sense...
not hard to bodge it though. You making your own pedals from scratch?
no i've bought the MK pedals, was just trying to work out how they all go together. the accelerator cable didnt seem long enough but maybe im
mistaken
anyone got any methods that dont involve welding? i havent got the equipment you see...
Pete
ive done about the same as joel(no bodging tho)you will need to find some with a welder
I've uploaded (to website) yesterday some pictures of our brake and accelerator pedal fixings. You can re-use the clutch but the acc. isn't
long enough, you need to source a new one.
Our method doesn't require welding... we have no gear either but we managed a way around it!
We bought a cable banjo from MK to connect cables to pedals.

Ive been looking at your website, i cant work out how u have attached the cable to the metal rod going through the pedal.
Also where did u get the tophats from and what are you using to stop the cable chaffing on them, or are you just going to grease them up enough.
Thanks
Greggors,
there is a 6mm bolt running through two seperate pieces of aluminium bar either side of the pedal. One piece of ali bar has been turned down to accept
the banjo (which swivels and attaches the cable). The top hats are also machined from aluminium bar, and have a screwed adjuster running through them.
The cables don't chaffe and they are all greased up with silicone grease. HTH
I used the standard Sierra accelerator cable and effectively lengthened the cable by way of a bit of stainless steel sheet (around 2mm thick, 10 mm
wide and approx 40mm long).
I drilled a hole in each end of this bar and fixed the cable to one end and the pedal to the other.
To get the standard cable to fit I used one of the MK supplied 5mm hex cap screws in place of the original ball thingy that was attached to the
accelerator pedal.
At the other end of this short bar I used another 5mm high tensile screw to attach to the pedal.
