Exchange G/box

Hi ,

Has anyone any recommendations for getting an exchange gearbox (MT75) or a good qualtiy overhaul.

Reason I ask is that my box was "overhauled" done about 150 mls and sounds really noisey . Bearings sound like they are dying !!

Who did the overhaul? I thought the MT gearboxes where made so they couldn't be overhauled!

A local company to me . Supposed to have changed all bearings and seals but I'm now a bit suspicious as to what was replaced. As far as I'm aware no issues with box overhauls loads of places advertising overhauls / exchange for the MT75 but just wondered if anyone had any recommendations. Never user my local one before so had no real knowledge on workmanship / quality

Midland Transmissions http://www.gearbox-mts.com/home.html I spoke to a gent called Gavin, he knew exactly what I wanted for my V6 conversion and gave me a price of £500 to convert the two boxes to one with all new gears, shafts, seal etc plus the same for my diff (included in the £500). I thought it was a good deal.

The ONLY one in my area that I would trust is 'The Gearbox Centre' in Northampton (01604 755230). About the only down side to using them is that you would have to take the box to them.

I have used A1 Gearboxes in Eaton Socon near St Neots loads of times and have never had or heard of any problems . They get my vote .
