S.V.A Fail
smudge88 - 12/3/09 at 07:02 PM

Rather new to this but my first proper post, as per title really, had a S.V.A fail at Southampton, not saying it’s a bad fail but the tester is going to post me the fail its going to take that long to type out.

BIG thanks to Robin attended with me, at least I will have a list to work from

Sounds like you had a tough one mate, doesn't sound like any major ones, marker pen on the fluid cap and stuff some wire wool up the pipe and thats you done, wonder if you can borrow a bonnet from somewhere or bite the bullet and buy another sheet of ali and bend another, but obviously don't bother painting it, then sell it afterwards to get your coin back ish.

Not bad though and you car looks nice m8

Cheers

Bad luck. At least you now have a diffinative list to work from.

The SVA manual is very clear on some stuff. For example; It specifically says the brake warning light must be red and have the correct symbol illuminated on it. There's even a picture of the correct symbol. The tester has no discretion on that so don't blame him if you got it wrong.

Quick question, did you have a radius on the windscreen top edge? If so what radius is it?

Wondering if I need to blunt or radius mine or leave as is..
