IVA central register
ollie2910 - 19/7/23 at 06:25 PM

Does anyone know if there is a central register for vehicle's which have passed an IVA? I have a vehicle which and various IVA bits of paper work including a couple of minor fails but no certificate that clearly says pass.

The car is registered (does this show that it has passed an IVA)

many thanks. :-)

Thanks Gremlin1234, that would make sense, a certificate in exchange for a reg document.

But like everything to do with the DVLA's database they probably are incapable of providing any report of IVA records if you were to ask them.

I have a situation that many other kit builders have faced when using an engine from an unknown donor, even if the engine type clearly links to a specific age range for the vehicle production; to be IVA tested to the relevant age emissions spec and for any age related registration application you need to prove the age of the engine, even though the data must exist already on the DVLA database as the engine number is listed on every car's V5.

Most car manufacturers will wite back confirming the engine age if you contact them with the engine number though won't they?

I know Ford do (because I wrote to them to verify the age of my Pinto engine).

Unfortunately not Mazda - they also can't interrogate their own database and can only work off a vehicle VIN number in order to validate the age of an engine.
