SVA Pass at Nottingham
mike smith1 - 2/5/07 at 05:54 PM

Hi all,

SVA Pass today 1st time at Nottingham, tester Martin very firm and fair, a couple of point we had to sort out, bits of trim here and there, handbrake cable soldered end snapped during test.

Speedo and emissions where spot on.

Thanks to Chris Darby (zxrlocost) and the BEC Owners Club Twin CAT System, and snoopys fish tank valve system!

Very Pleased with the result, roll on the argument with the insurance as i am not 21 untill october and the battle with the DVLA.

Thanks to everyone for the help on here!

Mike

Congratulations Nice looking car. Is that just a random place you found to sort the car out or the test centre?

Marlon - 2/5/07 at 06:03 PM

Congratulations!
How big is the grin on your face then????
It's the best feeling in the world when they hand over that mac isn't it. I'm still buzzing from mine last week.
Good luck with the dvla, you'll need it!!

Steve,

Pulled off the plastic sleeve that was covering the cable as lucky it had streched the cable as well and used a cable end barrel onto the bare hand brake cable.

Its just outside the gate at Nottingham test centre, it was recommended by Martin himself, its a pub car park

well done mate, good luck with dvla

worX - 3/5/07 at 05:24 AM

Congratulations Mike, all the best mate!

good luck with dvla (it's not a problem really) and good luck with insurance (could be a small problem)

start out asking for 5000 miles and then work down to whatever you will accept (mine is down to 1000 ) to decrease the price!

cheers,
Steve.

well done mate!!!

Use either Sheffield or Peterborough DVLA if you haven't applied yet, try and avoid notts if you can, speaking from my own recent experience.

great stuff mike!

Hellfire - 3/5/07 at 11:58 AM

Congratulations Mike, well done. It now needs a nice steady run down the M1 to Stoneleigh on Sunday. And don't worry about anything falling off..... there'll be a few others there to pick up the pieces

Get out there and have some fun but go steady, these things can bite back. Ask our old man
