Calipers & Electrolysis
Beardy_John - 28/6/08 at 08:53 PM

Have read through dozens of posts about electrolysis and finally have all the bits (and the time) to give it a go. Two questions though:

1) With calipers (sierra ones) is it best to strip out the piston first, or dunk it all in one go & then give it a good wash after?
2) With the front uprights (again sierra) is it best to strip out the bearings or again dump it all in?

Cheers

Ref calipers - i found it easier to throw mine is against exchange units. Were cheap and not worth buggering about with.

simply throw them in only the rust will be affected. once done, scrub them and spray them with wd40 or paint. make sure bearings are well greased or they will instantly start to rust. brakes are basic and easy to refurbish, no need to waste money.

I have now run out off beer (poor planning)
