Can't believe how cheap that is!

It is a non runner though.... Could mean a number of things... Not sure I would want to break it, looks quite good probably the running gear is the main problem, probably worth fixing and selling on..

The wedges dont seem to be worth much atall at the moment...

They are ugly, but its a cheap way of getting V8 soundtrack I guess

Jasper - 5/10/09 at 02:10 PM

Ugly??? I think it's a rather nice looking car actually, a bit Miami Vice

PAUL FISHER - 5/10/09 at 02:10 PM

Looks like a bargain to me,looks a very tidy car for that sort of money, worth double that at least when sorted

Must be a Southern thing... we can recognise those hot summer nights and see the potential!

I think it looks great!

Go for it Jasper! That'll give you summat fun to drive when the cheque comes through!

Am i the only one that spotted the Inlet hose disconnected from the plenum? This would mean that the MAF sensor wouldnt spin, and prevent the engine from starting???? I reckon this is an easy fix.

If i had the space and the spare cash, id go for it.

Bluemoon - 5/10/09 at 03:09 PM

^^ I doubt that's the problem, more likely they have had a go at "fixing it" and failed.. But you never know..

I think even my sister could spot that fault, I doubt the owner is quite that useless with cars

Gav - 5/10/09 at 03:22 PM

Looking at the sellers website they also have a 2003 DAX for sale with a CBR 1000 engine for 13k, sounds like a bit much!
comes with Quaife sequential gearbox and F1 paddles apparently

How the heck do you get rid of that bloody annoying add that covers over the area that has the price on it, tried everything with no luck, Grrrrrrrrrr! :-) Cheers Ray

?

The price is in the top right hand corner, above the pic of the alleycat wheel?

It's £1,900 BTW!

128 k miles!?!?!?

usually the V8 needs a full rebuild after 60 k although they keep on running and running and running unmtil all the cam lobes are worn away

note:
MASSIVE HISTORY = been to more garages than a BP petrol tanker

MASSIVE BOX OF RECIPTS AND SALES INVOICES = see above

they weren't renown for the reliablilitititiy.

MikeRJ - 5/10/09 at 05:45 PM

The chassis on these rot for a pastime; I reckon this probably wouldn't be a bargain easy fixer-upper...

grahamgg - 7/10/09 at 09:24 PM

this would be a better donar. spoke to the seller and it runs ok, with just a bit of a vibration from the modified prop, and rear arches slightly rusty

linky

Would look better in a darker colour IMO.

Might well be worth the money depending on what's wrong with it, but a dealer should have a good idea what's wrong and get it put it right if it was an easy/cheap fix.

wilkingj - 10/10/09 at 11:00 AM

As a Donor? NO WAY.

£2k would give you a FULLY rebuilt Rover 3.5 V8, ie rebore, new pistons, crank grind, new cam and bearings, and refurbished heads.

Its not worth it for the engine, in an unknown condition. If its high mileage, then the cam is almost guaranteed to be work (usually dead CAM after about 80K on a RV8).

For £2k, you could be looking at much better options.

Just my 2 d's worth.
