I'm looking for an Argon Gas supplier for TIG work . Does this seem a good deal ???? One off £50 refundable bottle hire , no monthly rental.

I got one of those bottles. IIRC cost around £ 130 when you take into account the gas, bottle, carriage VAT etc.

no idea how long it lasts since I've only done gew minutes practise.

the will be getting more distributors so the cost will be less due to no carriage but only if you are local.

not looked into their prices at the moment, but you should save on the delivery bit!

I took the wife for a day out in Margate, with a slight diversion to Adams Gas - this meant that the gas + deposit came to around £85 (I think) - £48 refundable on return of bottle. This suits me as I doubt I'll finish the bottle within a couple of years.

I didn't count the petrol cost, as it was to be a day out for the missus - shame Margate is a bit tatty... nice fish & chips though...
