Been looking at Yamaha R1 head lights to fit on a project car and wondered if there was any legal reasons why not? They do give a beam pattern. Reason
being they are small and light (no pun) and always part of an engine package if you buy a crashed bike for the engine, etc. Might be the furute look
of a sleek roadster or something?
Any feedback appreciated.
bike lights dip straight down, and for a car they need to dip down to the left.
The lights on my bikes (BMW and Ducati) dip to the left (that is light up the left hand side of the road).
I know a guy who passed SVA at Newcastle with bike headlights
They were CBR 1000 RR ones iirc - the sharply angled ones which are actually two separate units.
Dont know if thats helps but just my 2p...
Some bikes have a flat dipped beam (not allowed on cars) but there are also some with the kick-up on the left which should be fine for SVA and MOT requirements.
