what size oil coolers are you running?

also do you do anything differnt to help with cooling underbonnet temps etc....

Im using a supercharger and an intercooler from a Renault 5/Renault 21.
Its in a side duct (Mid engine car) so is the same as a front mounted.

I have got one of these on mine

http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=340_367&products_id=2258

235mmX100mm 13 row. fits perfectly behind my steering rack with a little lip hanging just below the chassis to flick air up through it.

its got more capacity than the standard one but there is an oil thermostat on the engine so it cant over cool the oil. if you haven't got an oil thermostat then dont go too big as you will over cool the oil

what engine is the above?

do you have any other mods to help with cooling with having a turbo fitted?

^^ It's a saab 2.0 turbo, mine's the same but with a 10 row mocal in a similar position.

Sorry, just read the question again and see OIL cooler not AIR cooler.

Im using an oil / water heat exchanger which seems to work very well so far. The test will be when its driving on the road though.

depends if you are water cooling the turboi also??

i ran some vents on the side of the turbo to reduce temps was fine

Ive got a r5 running a 1.8 overhd cam, with hybrid watercooled turbo no oil cooler, but has oil jets cooling the pistons.

It depends if your gunna razz the a**e off it ! 8-5 to1 compression....pushin just short of 200hp

i wouldnt be building it if i want going to

what oil temps do you get running like that?

westy turbo - 7/2/11 at 01:17 PM

if its ball bearing,it has to have the water conected, turbo outside the bodu doesnt sound right for me
for cooling,i cutted the body in the sides, open my "look like grills bonnet" and the nose cone has a vent

col - 7/2/11 at 05:53 PM

Hehe......no i suppose you wouldnt.....as far as oil temp is ive no idea....but oil pressure remains constant 30/40 psi
