oil cooler on xe ?

anyone running an oil cooler on a c2.0xe

ive just been given one , its a little bigger then the stock one ( not much )

will it be overkill or o/k ?

Never needed one on my XE.

If you do want one, just make sure you fit a thermostat then it wont cool to an unnessacary level.

I have one on my 230 hp engine and turns out i didnt need one after all!!!

Its a good idea to monitor the oil temp before deciding *if* you need to fit an oil cooler and also keep an eye on oil pressure (make sure your using the right spec oil)

*If* going for an Oil cooler it needs a stat really so there's no danger of 'overcooling' the oil

as said above most folks don't need one but if your running a fairly high spec or turbo motor and doing track days etc
its worth checking oil temp and then making a decision

Run a Laminova on mine which helps bring the oil temp up to the right level
