Seat Bolts - how to measure

I need some longer versions of the bolts that my standard MK fibre glass seats bolts.

I have nothing to compare them to to know what size they are M????

I know they fit snugly through a 8mm hole, have a hex key head and thread intot eh bottom of an MK seat.

Need to hit up screw fix at lunch but dont knwo what M size to get.

any pointers on working out what size bolts are etc?

There M8's but make sure you get minimum tensile strength of 8.8 grade

The bolts you should use are a standard M8. The length I don't know since it is up to your installation.

For sure it'll be M8. If you want to double check measure how many MM 20 threads on the bolts take. If its divisable my mm then it's def M8 metric. You can use the thread distance to work out whether its fine or course....

I wouldn't worry too much re grade of bolt. Does anyone know anywhere where you can get less than 8.8 socket cap bolts?!?!?

Yeah, the 'M number' is the nominal/major diameter in millimeters of the bolt (ie, the size of the hole it would be a snug fit through).
- Also the head is 13mm across flats, and the washer is 16mm od.

kriss if your going to croydon screw fix go captial supplies on boston road by lambert round about much better quality and any size you want. I think they are either m8 or m10 with standard thread but might be worth taking on in to get the right one.
