Lardy pinto!

Weighed my car at work today on some setup scales.

587kg with half tank of fuel

I was expecting around 600kg to be honest so not too bad.

2003ish Indy chassis
Pinto with type 9
Cobra roadster 7 seats
14" wheels standard roll hoop
small plexiglass aeroscreen

Nothing lightweight about it except having no proper screen. Could lose some weight by changing to fibre glass seats and maybe 13" alloys.

Ive heard the pinto weighs around 130kg is this without the gearbox? A lad at work has an indy with a fireblade engine but not on the road yet and we were guessing how much it would weigh.

When weighed at SVA, my R1 Indy tipped in at 426kg with a full tank and all fluids - blade car shouldn't be too different to this.

Don't be too worried about the weight of your pinto powered motor though - I was at a trackday yesterday and the fastest car there was a pinto engined westy with a thoroughly sorted chassis and slicks on it.

It was purely for interest. It still goes as fast now I know how much it weighs!

Was the westie on Kumho slicks by any chance? Had someone pick some up the other day from work for their pinto powered westie.

My Pinto Indy weighed in @ 600kg on the local public weighbridge. Full tank of fuel etc. Again no lightweight parts other than a perspex flyscreen in place of a windscreen. Intatrim ranger seats fitted which may be a tad lighter than the Cobra 7's, but a fairly chunkt plywood dash and boot lid probably up the weight little.
