some pics of the olde mk

ive made a few changes to my car so thought i'd show some piccies

lost my clear indicator lenses

ventilation to keep down the under bonnet temps

some mud flaps to stop the loose grit taking my eyes out

locking boot cover

and a pic of my bay before i fitted a new top to my killswitch and a new fuel filter
also ive had to hack my triton airbox so it now needs some fibreglass doing and a new filter. the aluminiun to the left is to send the hot air from the rad out where the wishbones mount

hope it all looks ok

Only one thing that really concerns me is the pickup for the air feed for the carbs, our blade ran the standard air box reversed to fit under the bonnet scoop so the intakes picked up inside the bonnet, this meant the engine was breathing the hot air from under the bonnet, after seeking the advice from this forum the opinion seemed to be engines don't like breathing hot air. so we moved the intakes to point directly into the cold air flow from the scoop, what an increase in performance.

what we plan to do is build an alloy shield to go round the airfilter with some ducting to it as front of the bonnet scoop catches the highest point on my airbox but thank you for the info
ill try and get it finished soon and post some piccies

Looks great mate.

Can I ask what you made the mud flaps from - or are they bought items?

they are some universal rally style mudflaps from ebay and i just cut the bottom off them (as they weren't mine)
and used the larger part to make some stone guards
they are like these
clickety click
