MK GT1 - what are they worth?
A friend told me today that he is going to look at an MK GT1 which is built to rolling chassis and comes with an R1 engine. Apparently nearly
everything is there to finish the build (heard that before!), and possibly hydraulic gear changer, R1 clocks and loom.
Presuming it isn't painted, is there anyone out there that may be able to guess what it is worth?
I'll get back to you if he doesn't buy it, are they sought after??
Cheers

This would be a good place to try for the info required. They had a good display at Stoneleigh, I thought.

for road driving? If so part builts have the IVA cost and an electric or other reverse cost to be built in to make them a good buy.

I don't know if it is GT1, GT2 or Spire GTR. Knowing the mate he will not attempt IVA so it will be track only.
But he will want me to finish it for him!

His main problem if it is the GT1,is that you can no longer get hold of any body work for them,so if you stuff it on a track day he is stuffed
As for value, there was a fully built one very good spec,a quality build, for sale for around 18 months in a dealers started around £12000,he droped it
down to £8000 before it sold,so I would say it may be worth £5000 as a rough guide,if he willing to take the risk of keeping it away from the armco
Jon Ison is the best guy to speak to on here,he built one, raced one,and crashed one
