Rear brake caliper problems
Having ongoing problem bleeding the brakes. Had the rear caliper off of the disk with the piston clamped. Clamp moved as pedal pushed, piston has
moved out and will not wind back in. Any suggestions would be welcome before I resort to violence!!

Are they sierra rear calipers?
I had a similar issue with the rear calipers and wrestled with them for ages with a clamp until I realised that the pistons screw back in rather than
push. You either need the right tool (which I don't have) or some needle nose pliers (which everyone in the world owns).
With regard to bleeding, I moved the caliper round the disc so that the bleed valve was to the top and the pads still clamped on the disc. I suppose
you could stick a bit of wood in place though and get the same effect.

Use the locking spanner off a 12" grinder as a wind back tool but you also need to put pressure on piston as well

Slacken back the hand brake cable first --- do search this subject is covered at least twice a month.

Thanks for the suggestions. Forgot to mention Sierra calipers, handbrake cable removed, piston out about 15mm. I've tried a lot off pressure
with, as it happens a grinder spanner. It turns freely but will not wind back. Any more thoughts??

Have you tried turning it both directions? I can't remember which way they turn to wind them back. Doesn't need pressure, just needs
screwing back in.

Turned it anticlockwise which eventually freed the piston from the quick tread. So I've took it out and checked for problems with the spring
mechanism inside, all looks ok but it was slightly off centre stopping the nut in the piston from screwing in properly. Just needed a bit of wobbling
as its tightened. Sorted now but the outer dust seal looks a pig to refit.
Cheers
