Painting chrome trims black
Hello all, as part of the plans fopr the BEC I am wanting to paint the chrome trim thingies (in the pic below) to black. So what is the best way to
do that?

what material are they, and how are they held in place?
at a guess they will be aluminium? if they are screwed in place i would just unscrew them, and take them off, then etch prime them , and spray them
satin black, then screw them back in place.
more than likely though they will be rivited in place meaining to remove them you will have to drill out the rivets

i would rub down with 1000 grit wet and dry
then prime with acid etch primer
then paint.
did mine last night

I asked mine to be Powercoated but they never were.
I went over them with a bit of autoseal (metal polish) came out really nice.
If going over the them with black is your choice, I would do the cage too so its all the same colour and quality of paint to it matches up nicely.

Get them powder coated, easiest and best result.
