Back on the road after crash damage.

Finally got the car back on the road after the spin that damaged the rear bodywork. See here:

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=114163

Took a fair bit of help from various people as I am a real beginner with it all, but took the opportunity to sort out the interior and some rust on the chassis etc. Think the engine needs an oil service but other than that all seems fine and dandy , so I though I'd post some pics as I'm so pleased with meself

New Dash and tunnel cover:

New rear end (ooer):

New firewall and boxed in electrics. (over the original Ally plate).

New 5" lamps and teeny indicators to replace "the hoooge" nine inch jobbies and caterham indicators that were on there.

Close up of the switchgear:

Really pleased with how its turned out for a first go, learnt loads (especially about wiring :mad. Just got to finish the interior of the boot and decide on how to trim the edges of the cockpit, now I don't have any interior side panels... I have abs cut to fit as new panels but actually quite like it without them on.

Criticism welcome.

Looking very good!

Definitely approve of the headlamp change (did the same myself) the little Dominator lights look spot on for the car IMHO.

Car is looking very slick now!!
Love the lights (front and rear)
Do you know if the headlights are IVA friendly?

How hard can it be?

Looks great but please tell me that the tube in the centre of the steering wheel is a temporary fixture and you aren't going to drive it like that.
Even four point harnesses stretch a huge amount in the event of a major crash so either your chest or face meeting that could be a tad painful!
Cheers, Pewe

V V No not sarky, genuinely concerned for your safety - mistook the quick shift for aircraft style steering wheel - must have been all those microlights and auotgiros at Popham at the weekend.
Note to self - book eye-test!

I will assume you are being sarky

Forgot to put steering wheel back on

Don't think lights are IVA friendly - Check with SVC lights.

Handbrake gaiter has just arrived hurrah!
