prop
last year i thought id broke another busa engine ,i was 90% sure it was the gear box and i only just managed to get it home and in the garage ,which
is where i left it ,,that was around 12 months ago . anyway got round to having a look at it last weekend and under investigation noticed that the
centre hardy splicer had snapped .massive relief as i really didn't want to take out the engine again .sent it to bailey morris and they have
said there is wear in the front and rear uj's and the centre bearing needs replacing ,,the surrounding rubber had also split so i think that
that and the centre bearing running out of true made the uj snap . but its only done say 8000 miles...
just wondered how many of you guys really check your props ,,i always checked the front one every time the bonnet was off ,mainly just to make sure
everything was still tight and i've had 3 diffs so i kept my eye on the rear uj but never gave the centre one a second thought ,,,probably
because its out of sight

As above, good to see you posting again.
And as above - you drive a car at least as hard as I do, so 8000 miles or 80,000 it would have had a bloody hard life

How often? After every weekend.
Car gets jacked up, everything gets a good tug, bolts are checked, centre bearing gets stared at and prodded.
Part of the routine, along with checking that the clutch slave is still holding on, etc. etc.....
I get a lot of trouble from things that 'unwind' under the vibes, usually very quickly and it's often difficult to spot!
