how much power can a early indy chassis take?

i'm probably being a bit ott with the cautious approach here but i'm looking at building myself a new engine pushing around 250 - 300 bhp over winter/ next year so was just wondering if there's anything i need to be looking at uprating with regards to the chassis?

regards
john

yeah it's gonna be lively but i'm getting itchy to do something with the zetec i have sat in the garage needing a rebuild and i'm pretty convinced i can turbo it fairly cheaply. just bored with the pinto now even though there's nowt wrong with it i just want to play with things!

Some more triangulation around the engine mounts maybe, plus u might need to have some gun drilled driveshafts made and propshaft uprated.

I'd consider adding some triangulation in the upper engine bay. Firstly, a section over the gearbox between the curved footwells, then from ends of the new section forward to join the side rails where the V shaped triangulation meets inside the upper shock mount.

If you're going that far, then a prop catcher in the tunnel would make me feel safer too.
