Diff Angle on 'R' chassis

I've just noticed that the diff flange on my Indy 'R' is angled downwards about 3 deg from vertical towards the chassis floor. It's just a standard Sierra 3.38 diff. Has any one else got this issue with the 'R' chassis ? I would have thought it should be at 90 deg to the floor and similarly at the engine end. I know about keeping the ends parallel etc but I'm interested to know if this is a 'feature' of the 'R' chassis or whether mine is unusual. The only way I can see to fix it is to weld in a new diff bracket

Or maybe oval the holes slightly!

According to http://www.baileymorris.co.uk/technical5.asp 3deg is acceptable.

I also have the R chassis, but no diff yet so I can't compare....

Hi

You want the flanges etc to be parralel to each other but offset by upto 3 degre. Not angled away from each other by any angle. !!!

Cheers matt

If you are certain the flange on your diff is angled downwards 3 degrees from vertical, contact MK Sportscars and discuss it with them.
