350lb Front Sus?
Was checking thru my kit today and saw tht the front suspension was 350lb. Is this not far too heavy for an R1 engined car? Thanx

my suspension is 350lb at the front for a v6 cologne 2.4, so all things being equal, i would say yes.
unless your shocks are mounted at a very shallow angle, which reduces effective spring rate....

Jay,
there was a thread recently on this very same subject. Most people running BEC's with these springs seem perfectly happy with them.
After setting up our tracking after SVA, we were noticing a lot of bump steer. We thought (wrongly) that the springs may be too firm.
Having no previous experience of actually driving an MK, we were unsure as to what to expect and thought that the bump steer was possibly
characteristic of these types of car. How wrong we were!!
Having the tracking set up correctly has totally transformed the handling capabilities of the car. It now handles absolutely superb. Far better than
we ever imagined.
I would suggest fitting the springs and having it set up correctly, then see if they're too heavy.
I doubt you'll be disappointed

I have checkedin the garage but only found a spare set of clutch plates and the pressure plate that goes on the outside centre of the clutch. All
yours if its any good to you?
Have you tried the fireblade shop?
So what is the magic toe setting??
Doug.

Other team member was present when it was all set up. Unfortunately he is working away at the moment so unable to post specific details. As far as I
know, the tracking was set up by laser. No toe either in or out. Slight negative camber (sorry don't know how many degrees). Dampers set at 10
clicks. (I think)
"Wow, thanks for nothing" I hear you say.
I'm sure the other team member will post specifics on his return.

Thanks Hellfire. At least it points us in the right direction.
When you say 10 clicks is that 10 in or out.
Thanks Gordon

Team Member...
Ok - so here goes... now I'm back
Using the Protech Shocks wind out the damper screw fully. Then wind it back in 10 clicks.
The wheels were set up 0 toe in - in other words parallel! Using laser guided mirror technique.
Camber was set at about 3deg. neg but was advised to change this to between 0 and 1 deg. negative (bottom wider than top) IIRC
Transformed the car!

Is the rear camber adjustable?
Of course it is - we set this 'plumb' using a spirit level, plumb line whatever!

I tried tonight and there is no problem with 10 full turns on the Protech dampers
So my question is still
clicks equal to turns or just clicks?

On the protech dampers there is a small knob. If you try to turn it it has 14 or so notched settings on it spread out over roughly 300 degrees of
rotation. Each of these 'notches' we're referring to as a click, becasue of the noise they make as we move the knob round.
The knob adjusts the rebound of the dampers.
Hope this helps clear things up for you
