body panels
hi fokes
got my MK back home wednesday and now time has come to start work, what is the best way to fix the body work to the chassis.
its been started with rivnuts just asking if there are any other options.

Sikaflex type glue and pop rivets along the top & bottom rail

I did see a thread on here where the panels were put on with 3M double sided tape, and having played with it I would expect that the car will fall
apart before the tape fails!

Just sikaflex the sides on. You can hold them in place by using rachet straps or bungees around the whole car.

Another vote for bonding but the odd rivet wont hurt if you want to add the braces It is amazing stuff. Loads of rivets will add to the torsional
rigidty a little as well. Depends what you want to do in the future i suppose. Also will stop rattles and vibration over the rivnut approach.
