Fitting TRE on Indy with extensions

Hi there, just doing some final iva checks and putting some cable glands on my TRE extensions, now I'm sure I read somewhere last night that the extensions get wound right on as far as they go, then you put the nut on the threaded end then put the TRE on to the extension, is this the case?

Or does it go-

Nut - extension - TRE
And use the extension for adjustment?

Could someone confirm, thanks in advance
Greg

Cool that's how I initially had it, then I read the Mk build manual and it put doubts in my head!
