steering rack
Having recently purchased an mk indy and loving it am contemplating my first mod. I find that there is quite a few turns lock to lock. I assume it
has a standard ratio sierra rack at the moment. Am considering putting a quick rack in it. Has anyone done this on an mk indy? Were you pleased with
the change? Also what is the best quick rack available, good quality for a reasonable cost.

Hi
We fitted a 2.8 shortened rack, purchased from
Mk
Danny gave us a good deal, we gave him our rack &
He gave us one already assembled.
It was cheaper than buying one from say Demon tweeks
and having to get it shortened for the MK.
Give Danny a ring and ask , Mk are a lot nearer to you than we are.
The 2.8 rack has made a world of difference & much more
enjoyable to drive .

Thanks for the reply. MK charge £150 for a quick rack.
I found the following kit on Rally Design's website - http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=7326
It seems like a good price.
Does anyone know if I'll have to have it shortened and then have the end re-tapped to make it fit the MK Indy?

Hi
Yes you still have to get it shortened & re-tapped
Disassemble yours Have you got the right tools (specials needed)
Clean re-pack with the correct grease on correct re assembly.
Cheaper to get the MK one if its ready assembled.
