Does anybody recognise my car
Hi
I am trying to find out some info on the engine spec of my car, it was built in 2006 and been parked in my mates garage since 2008 unused. he cannot
remember if the engine 2 ltr Pinto is std or modded, also if it has an un leaded head.
He does remember the engine was rebuilt by the builder.
I have found a photograph of when the car was owned by the builder, does anybody recognise the car or know the owner
Thanks
There are other pics in my archive

I can tell you that the photo had been taken at brands hatch. . .

Pic could be a SKCC run as it's Brands. Might be worth asking on their forum.

It's not that hard to figure out what work has been done to a pinto, at least not if your prepared to take it apart and have a look
If it's not got hardened valve seats then you'll find you might need to adjust the tappets alot (if you do enough mileage) so probably
best to leave it alone until you know that there is a problem.
(if it had hard valve seats from the factory there is a code stamped on them, if its had aftermarket ones added then you have to take the head off to
find out)
Cam's make a big difference to pintos, if you take the rocker cover off should be able to work out what its spec is without disturbing anything
(except the rocker gasket of course)
I'd say if it runs well then leave it alone.
If its running well and not producing the power you're looking for then you can strip it down to see what your dealing with - then you can
decide if it you want to tune it more or just swap it for something else....

Thanks for the replies chaps
To be honest it goes like a scolded cat!, it has R1 bike carbs fitted, lsd, drilled and grooved disks all round and been really well put together.
That's why I was trying to find a bit of history, I bought it off a mate of mine that got it from the builder in 2006, he put 200 miles on it
between then and the end of 2008. it was then sorned and left in his garage unused until 1 month ago.
