Windscreen options
Having got my Indy through the SVA with no screen, and subsequently fitting a small aero screen. I am considering fitting a proper windscreen &
possibly side screens.
My question is: will the Robin hood windscreen fit on a Indy, or do MK do one.
Conversly does anyone know who much it costs to get windscreen glass cut ?
Many thanks
James.

Hi there,
There is a long running dig at MK on here for not producing a windscreen
I have heard that some people have had a screen cut out of Fiat Panda glass as its all flat and it just big enough to do the job. Wouldnt think
cutting would be too expensive.
The tricky bit will be getting the shape right and creating the ally frame/seal housing.

You can get laminated glass cut for about £60 which is the easy bit! The problem is making or getting someone to make a surround to fit it. I ended up
mucking about with a Lolocost (same as Robin Hood) screen surround and getting new glass cut. Bob has just been through the same sort of thing and he
might have found someone who does a screen. I think Mac mototrsport were doing one for about £140 but I'm not 100% it fits. You will be able to
fit most "7" style screens its just how well they fit!

OK
It is just that my price list from robin hood (locost suplies ) suggests that you can buy their screen assembled for £80.
Have you seen the method Ron chapman uses to bend the aluminium surround. I thought it looked like it could work?
Cheers

The RH sceen is not a perfect fit, zetec did a cut'n'shut job on his to very much improve this BUT said it was a nasty job.
I've recently bought a pre-lit westfield screen frame and side supports (£45) it needed a new glass (£38) but it does fit the MK scuttle very
well.
Their is a company that that would make a screen frame with glass to your spec/template but unfortunatly i have lost the address if you do an MK
windscreen search i'm sure it will pop up.

I have a caterham screen bought cheaply by a friend for me ,this is stashed away for post SVA mods, and fits fine onto the Indy.
Strange that a pre lit westy fits the same?

Once I've finished a project why do I start another?

Ive got a lolocost one you can have if you want to butcher it. Paid £40 for it its in good nick dont think it was ever fitted.
Ive been searching for a screen for ages, almost got a caterham one, but the bloke never got back to me even though he said i could pick it up the
following weekend.
They arnt that easy to come by ive found especially at a decent price.
Bob - where did you get you pre lit one from?

You could try:
Clearview enterprises

I've heard good things about him, approximate cost is £110 + vat for glass with a fully sealed surround made to fit the car. Looks very good
too.

Clearview enterpises thats the one,i've seen one of there screens on an indy at donington last year so they have a scuttle pattern.
I have spoken to them and they said its better if you send a card/template of exactly what you want.

Cool I had never heard of a 'heated windscreen' before now. I'd definately be interested.

Snoopy,
I'd be interested if the price is right.

Well there are hundreds of Locosts running about with homemade screen surrounds, including mine, honestly it's a piece of wee using the book
method and my piece of glass cost about £30.
Cheers
Chris
Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

you can also take the glass from an old fiat panda (which is flat) and get that cut leaving the kite mark on one corner
